Word By Word Journeys provides a variety of paths for writers and poets to wake up the imagination, shake up the senses, foster curiosity and cultivate perceptual awareness. With the pen as the vehicle and words the fuel we will travel together down the road bordered by freedom and suggestion.
Created by Virginia Schultz, Kathryn Singey and Emily Wiechec in 2011, Word By Word Journeys is dedicated to bringing poetry into K-12 classrooms, to bringing poetic awareness into everyday life and to the courageous writing and reading of poetry.
Using poetry exercises we experiment with poetic form and collaborative writing and practice using the creative senses. We host daylong weekend Poetry Expansion Labs, weekday evening Poetry Circles and in-depth poetry travel journeys for seasoned or emerging writers and poets.
Join us for a few hours, for a day or for an upcoming journey to the lands of famous poets.
