BIO
Emily Wiechec lives to write and to teach.  I have never been more comfortable as a learner, than as a teacher.  Young people readily connect to the righteous vibrations of the universe.  When you take on the wonder and open spirit of a child there are endless opportunities for learning.   I attended Metropolitan State University graduating in 2009 with a B.A. in Secondary Education with a language arts concentration.  Since then, I have been working as a substitute teacher for Boulder Valley and Jefferson County School Districts.  I have also enjoyed working with students during the summer months by teaching science and participating in Tell Your Story (a wonderful, creative, life-changing summer camp) as a writing coach.

I have always been an inspired reader and writer.  Formative writers in my life include (certainly, some are slipping slyly through the cracks) Hemingway, Steinbeck, Kerouac, Orwell, Hurston, Dickinson, Haley and Malcolm X.  Most recently, my real, live writer friends, Jack Collom, Kathryn Singey, Virginia Schultz and ALL of the participants in our circles have refreshed my writer's soul.  Thank you for participating in this poetry revolution with us.  What intrigues me most about poetry is the mindset and possibility inherent in form.  To me, it seems to mirror those vibrations of youth.
